Culver City Observer -

Culver City residents have until November 3 to vote on the candidates for the City Council and School Board as well as decide the fate of two separate measures dealing with rent control and property transfer tax.

They'll also have their say on the candidates for the Presidency, County Board of Supervisors, state and federal offices and a multitude of state propositions.

Voting by can be conducted by mail or in person at Early Voting Centers at West Los Angeles College and Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, among other locations.

Following are some of notable local races on the ballot:

Culver City Council – 3 seats;

Candidates: Mayor Goran Eriksson, former commissioner Albert Vera, Yasmine McMorrin, Heather Wollin, Freddy Puza, Khin Khin Gyi, Robert Zirgulis, Darrel Menthe and Anthony Rizzo who suspended his campaign.

Board of Education – 2 seats;

Candidates: incumbents Dr. Kelly Kent and Anne Allaire, former member Scott Zeidman and Paula Amezola, Parks and Recreation commissioner.

Measure B – a measure which requires voter approval of all rent control initiatives.

Measure RE – a measure which would increase the local real estate transfer tax for sales above $1.5 million.

Board of Supervisors 2nd District – 1 seat;

Candidates: Former LA City Council President Herb Wesson and California State Senator Holly Mitchell.

President and Vice President; U.S. House of Representatives; State Assembly and more than a dozen county and state measures dealing with school bonds, rent control, independent contractors and stem cell research, among other issues.

Election officials said all voters can return their ballots by mail (no postage necessary), or drop them off at drop box sites, including the following locations in Culver City:

 Culver City Julian Dixon Library - 4975 Overland Avenue;

 Culver West Alexander Park - 4162 Wade St;

 Fox Hills Parkette - Green Valley Circle/Buckingham Pkwy;

 West Los Angeles College Library - 9000 Overland Avenue;

If you want to vote in person you can go to the following Early Voting Centers:

 West LA College - 9000 Overland Ave, Instrumental Rehearsal Hall FA 104, (10am-7pm early voting dates and 7am-8pm on Election Day)

 Veterans Memorial Complex Auditorium - 4117 Overland Ave, (10am-7pm early voting dates and 7am-8pm on Election Day)

 Julian Dixon Library, Homework Center - 4975 Overland Ave, (10am-7pm early voting dates and 7am-8pm on Election Day).

 Four Points by Sheraton Hotel - 5990 Green Valley Circle, (10am-7pm early voting dates and 7am-8pm on Election Day)

All participating Vote Centers will follow State and County public health and safety guidelines, such as:

 Voters wearing facial coverings and gloves (coverings and gloves will be made available if needed);

 Wiping and sanitizing all surfaces and Ballot Marking Devices after each voter

 Social distancing of 6 feet;

 Election Workers wearing protective gloves and masks.
