Dodgers fight back against the Atlanta Braves

The first three games of the National League Championship series between the Dodgers and the Braves has produced a combination of good hitting and good pitching. Both of those teams have exhibited both of those qualities.

Last Wednesday, with the Dodgers needing a win to stay competitive in the series after dropping the first two games, they exploded to 15 runs to beat the Braves 15-3 in Arlington, Texas. The starting pitcher for the Dodgers Wednesday was Julio Urias.

The Dodgers next game is Friday at 6 p.m. On Saturday the game will start at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday's game will start at 5 p.m. The winner of the best of seven series will advance to the World Series.

USC and UCLA football teams continue to practice to get ready for their season openers on Saturday, November 7. Both teams have a lot of holes to fill and both head coaches, Clay Helton of USC and Chip Kelly of UCLA are still searching for the right combinations to create a successful season. On paper the Trojans appear to have more talent, especially at the quarterback, receiver and running back positions.

The UCLA basketball team, led by senior forward Chris Smith started practice this week and hopes to be one of the best teams in the Pac-12. USC should also be very competitive in league play.

Former UCLA women's basketball player Jordin Canada has achieved one of the hardest accomplishments for any athlete at any level. The Los Angeles native, has won two WNBA championships in three years playing for the Seattle Storm and the way that team is built she may pick up her third trophy next year.
