AMVETS Building Demolition?

February 20, 2020

With little fanfare and no staff reports attached the city council will receive a report on the former AMVETS building at 10858 Culver Blvd. at Monday night’s council meeting.

Reports are normally attached to the agenda item on the city website.

Currently, informed sources said the city plans to demolish the AMVETS building, the Boy Scout house, community garden and the paddleboard courts at Elenda Street.

The proposed replacement would include a permanent home for the Mayme Clayton Library which the County of Los Angeles evicted from the former Culver City Courthouse along with some type of homeless artist facility.

The scope of the facility has not yet been determined.
