Living Legend, Jose Feliciano, recently made an appearance at The Grammy Museum's intimate Clive Theatre for a sold-out Q & A and performance, moderated by Executive Director Scott Goldman.

At age 74, the Puerto Rican multi-Grammy Award-winning musician, singer and composer is still full of vim and vigor, and also a funny joke-teller.

He was promoting his new album, Behind This Guitar, which reunited him with famous record producer Rick Jararrd.

"There wouldn't be a career for me without Rick Jararrd," Feliciano said. "He insisted on being my producer. Lucky for me."

There were many songs that Jararrd recommended that Feliciano sing that Feliciano didn't think would be a fit for him...but Jararrd was always right. They became hits.

Feliciano is best known for his two biggest commercial hits - his rendition of The Doors' "Light My Fire (1968)," and the best-selling Christmas single, "Feliz Navidad (1970)."

One interesting anecdote Feliciano shared was about his version of the song "California Dreamin'." He was watching the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and heard his version of this song...he had no idea that it was going to be included in the film's soundtrack.

Feliciano told the audience how grateful he is for his fanbase staying loyal to him over many years.

"I'm very happy," he said. "Thank you America for giving me the opportunity to be somebody, somebody I want to be."

And his fans are also happy.
