The Lakers Are Looking to Move on
February 6, 2020
It's still hard for the Lakers and the rest of the basketball world to move forward after the death of Kobe Bryant of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and eight other people on January 26, but like they say in the entertainment world, "the show must go on."
After a moving tribute to Kobe last Friday night at the Staples Center before the game against Portland, the Lakers tried to get back to work on the basketball court. They lost that game but the game seems incidental. "It's hard to put into words," said a solemn Troy Daniels after the game.
"It's hard to put into words what Kobe meant to everybody," continued Daniels. "He was my idol. There was a lot of emotion out there tonight. We tried to stay focused on the game. We tried to focus on the game plan. At the end of the day it was a big night for us and the world. It's about the Mamba mentality. We just need to try and get better and keep his name alive."
The Lakers have t hree more games before the All-Star break against Golden State on the road, February 8, Phoenix at home on February 10 and Denver on the road on February 12. Their next game after the All-Star break is against Memphis on February 21 at the Staples Center.
