On Sunday morning, Nov. 3, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Culver City Police Officers and Culver City Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the area of Washington Place, west of Frances Ave, on a call of an injury hit and run traffic collision, involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian.
Upon their arrival, the responding police officers located the male victim lying on the street in the east bound lanes of Washington Place, west of Frances Avenue. Culver City Fire Department paramedics subsequently declared the victim dead. The suspect fled the scene.
There were not no witnesses and the suspect never returned to the scene CCPD was able to secure images and video of the vehicle in the accident. The vehicle is believed to be a black, newer model Toyota Corolla. During the collision, the vehicle's front windshield was shattered, and there was damage caused to the hood and the dashboard.
