The three-story building, formerly the offices of the LA Weekly, will be reconfigured to include 12,000 square feet of clinic space, 12,000 square feet of administrative space and over 80 parking spaces. When finished, it will include 24 exam rooms, four dental operatories, two vision rooms and seven consultation rooms and will allow WFHC to double the number of patients treated each year in addition to offering expanded services. WFHC plans to begin operating out of the new space in early 2020.

The new location for WFHC was made possible by an initial generous pledge of $1 million dollars by Darlene and Alan Lasher.

The non-profit health center was founded over 40 years ago with the mission of providing comprehensive, high quality, cost effective health care in an educational and supportive environment.

The event featured speeches by Stephanie Negriff, Westside Family Health Center Board Chair and Westside Family Health Center President/CEO Debra A. Farmer and certificates were presented by Nicolas Rodriquez, District Director, Congressman Ted W. Lieu and Jacqueline Hamilton from the Office of Congressmember Karen Bass.
