Nine Culver City High School students and two chaperones, sponsored by the Culver City Sister City Committee (CCSCC), visited our sister city, Iksan, South Korea and surrounding areas from Saturday, July 27 to Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Culver City Students were placed with nine Iksan students and their families, who welcomed them into their homes. Iksan students study English and American students were given brief Korean language instruction prior to the trip. With this knowledge students were able to successfully communicate, resulting in many new friendships.

The City of Iksan provided all the students with a tour of important sites in Iksan, the surrounding area, Seoul, and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea, with city staff SoYeong Kim and YeongAn Kwon acting as chaperones.

Highlights of the tour included many enjoyable and educational events.
