Rosa Cerezo of Culver City passed away at home on July 18, 2019
Rosa was born in Sdolvunov, Poland on 9/26/1927 to Mendel and Faiga Zac. After hearing "rumblings" regarding Jewish people, the family emigrated to Argentina, where she was raised and, eventually, married.
Rosa and her husband, Rodolfo Rolando Cerezo emigrated to New York city, NY in 1964. Rosa worked at Sak's Fifth Avenue for nine years, before their move to California in 1978, after Rudy retired.
In Los Angeles, California, Rosa worked for many years in the electronics industry at Hamilton Avnet, until being laid off.
In 1986, Rudy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Rosa devoted herself to caring for him until his death on April 27, 1987.
Rosa retired at that point, was active as a volunteer until, because of health restrictions, she stopped.
Rosa was predeceased by her parents, Mendel and Faiga Zac, her sister, Adela (Isaac) Tafel, and husband Rodolfo Cerezo.
She is survived by nephews Jose (Bety) Tafel, and Hugo (Susan) Tafel
Two great nephews, Andres (Armeda) Tafel, and Bradley Tafel and three great nieces, Monica (Joshua) Kamin, Liliana (Bill) Cohen and Robin Tafel, one great, great niece and three great, great nephews. Cousin Guillermo (Teresa) Polak, and her beloved "adopted" grandsons, Ben Liang and Brian Navarro.
Viewing was on July 24 at one o'clock at Solomon's Mortuary, 10625 South Broadway, Los Angeles, California, followed by the service at two o'clock. Interment (private) at three.
