The Lakers held a press conference to introduce Anthony Davis last Saturday in El Segundo.

After months of speculation and rumors Anthony Davis was introduced at a press conference at the Lakers training facility in El Segundo last Saturday. The 26 year old Davis turned the press conference into a joyous occasion that lasted about 30 minutes.

Flashback to a year ago during LeBron James press conference and it was all serious business. Davis' was full of comments that could only come out of a mature 26 year star athlete. One of the greatest players in the world gave answers to questions that made everyone in the gym feel at ease. Now can he do that with his teammates?

"When I found out that I was going to be traded to the Lakers I realized this is an unbelievable opportunity for me," said Davis. "To play for an organization that is all about winning championships, I think that was the biggest thing for me. We have one goal and that is to win."

It's been six years since the Lakers were in the playoffs and now they are one of the favorites to win the NBA championship. Davis along with other players that the Lakers signed this summer has put the team in the elite category of the NBA once again. "It's going to be fun," said Davis.

A few months ago the Lakers organization was described as dysfunctional now general manager Rob Pelinkqa and the rest of the Lakers upper management has reverse their fortunes. When a reporter ask Davis about the problems in the Lakers organization Davis said, "I am happy now and I don't care what anyone else thinks."

The three happiest people at the press conference were Davis, Pelinka and new Laker coach, Frank Vogel. Pelinka realizes Davis is a special talent. "What we think about AD is there is no more complete basketball player in the game," said Pelinka. "There is nothing he can't do. He can shoot, he can make plays, he can protect the rim and he can handle the ball."

The good news is it appears Davis is happy to be a Laker. "I have a great team around me. I am 26 years old and I love the game of basketball. I am ready to play."
