POP SK8, California’s first themed pop-up outdoor roller-skating rink opens in Culver City on Saturday, July 6 at Westfield Culver City (Westfield Culver City, 6000 Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City, CA 90230) on Saturday, July 6 and runs through Sunday, August 4 after successful runs in Valencia and Woodland Hills (still running until June 30 in Woodland Hills).

Open daily POP SK8 is a full-service outdoor roller rink created and produced by Ann Potenza. Josh Smith is the co-producer and production manager, Grammy nominated music producer and DJ, Chris Cox, will serve as the musical director, and art director Andrei Mignea will create visual media to round out the POP SK8 experience.

POP SK8 is an immersive experience, featuring a mix of classic songs from a themed time frame while also sprinkling in current tunes and movie scores that take place in the same period. Swing SK8 Mondays (New Electro Swing mixed with classic sounds from the 40s & 50s), Groovy Tuesdays (Peace, love, and flower powerful music from 60s), Dyn-O-Mite 70s Wednesdays (Disco, Pop, and Classic Rock music from the 70s), I Want My 80s Thursdays (Music from when everyone wanted their MTV), DJ Megamix Fridays & Saturdays (Hit music from the 90s, Y2K, and today) and La La SK8 Land Sundays (Sing-along music from Broadway & Movie Musicals) make up the diverse program. Each day, patrons will be encouraged to participate in contests, games, group popsk8-a-longs and surprise pop-up performances, all the while sharing experiences to the community through #popsk8live.

“Classics never go out of style,” said Ann Potenza, creator and co-producer of POP SK8. “We have taken a much-loved activity, added some of our own special sugar and spice for a modern and unique twist, to bring it to a new generation. It is the perfect place to hang out with friends and family and our goal is to have everyone fall in love with roller-skating.”

POP SK8 is open Monday through Thursday 2pm – 10pm, Friday 2pm – midnight, Saturday noon – midnight and Sunday noon – 10pm. Admission is $15 per person for all day wristbands and includes quad skates. Patrons are allowed to bring their own quad or inline skates. Non-skating patrons can participate in certain activities. No charge for children under 3 with non-skating guardian. A variety of discounts will be available throughout the season. Tickets will be available for pre-purchase.
