Search Called Off for Infant's Body

April 25, 2019

The Culver City Police Department has called of the search for the body of Jacson Mason. After weeks of research, consultation with subject matter experts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and discussions with Waste Management and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, the Culver City Police Department has decided to discontinue the search of the El Sobrante Landfill for the remains of the infant. In a press release the CCPD said, "We make this decision with a heavy heart after an exhaustive investigation was unable to narrow down the possible location of Jacsun's remains within the landfill to a point that would make continuing the search reasonable."

Not only reasonable but cost was surely a factor. One source to the Observer that the city would have to spend well over $1 million to even conduct the search.

Jacsun's parents, Kiana Williams and Adam Jackson, were both held to answer at a preliminary hearing on charges of felony child endangerment resulting in death on April 11. Their bail remains set at $5 million. Williams and Jackson's next court appearance will be April 25, at the Criminal Courts Building in downtown Los Angeles. The Culver City Police Department will continue to work closely with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office to see this case through to a successful prosecution.
