Herb Rosenberg left us on April 2, 2019, but he and his wife Diane left us a legacy of love, commitment and a sense of devotion many of us strive to achieve.

Like so many people the Rosenberg's and I were bound together by this place called Culver City.

Friendly and affable they were always happy to greet me and Herb was especially fond of talking about his beloved wife Diane.

Rarely in my life have I seen a couple so devoted to each other.

The facts and statistics do not tell the complete story but here goes. Herb was born on September 21, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of three boys.

He serve honorably in the United State Air Force from 1955 until 1959. They met at the Jewish Community Center in West Los Angeles. He told me, "I saw her across the room and I said to myself, I'm going to marry her," which he did on bended knees in front of her family.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 9, 2016 renewing their vow at Temple Akiba in front of friends and family.

Herb served his community well. He was President of the Friends of the Library, a member of the Culver City Democratic club and was on the Airport Advisory Committee for 9 years.

They traveled the globe visiting Israel, Hong, Kong, Norway, London, Thailand and Canada. Their last trip was a cruise to New Zealand.

He was laid to rest at Mt. Sinai Hollywood Hills with full military honors. He is survived by his wife Diane and son Alan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Howard, Dennis and Irving and his son Mark.
