Classical Music Production, Il Barocco at Seventh-Day Adventist Church

 


Baroque orchestra, Kontrapunktus, will be returning to Culver City for the second time this spring with its new classical music production, Il Barocco. The concert will be held at Seventh-Day Adventist Church on May 4th and begins at 7:30 PM. The church is located at 11828 W. Washington Blvd., Culver City, 90066. Il Barocco celebrates the influence that acclaimed Italian Baroque composers (a.k.a. Antonio Vivaldi, Archangelo Corelli, etc.) had on their German and English contemporaries such as Johann Sebastian Bach. Georg Philipp Telemann and Charles Avison. KONTRAPUNKTUS will also be performing new Baroque music from our gifted Composer-in-Residence, Mark Moya.

Kontrapunktus is a Baroque orchestra comprised of exceptionally talented classical musicians from the prestigious Colburn School and is led by Artistic Director and renowned harpsichordist, Ian Pritchard. Joining him on stage will be Concertmaster, Kako Miura, violinists Alena Hove, Jiyoung Park, Tiffany Kang, violists Ben Chilton and Christopher Rogers-Beadle, cellist Leif Woodward, bassist Marlon Martinez and flutist, Christopher Chung.

This performance is made possible in part by the City of Culver City, in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Performing Arts Grant Program with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
