Culver City Football Advances to CIF Semi's!

Centaurs Defeat Millikan Rams, 43-30

Culver City High's offense heated up in the second half as the Centaurs advanced to the 2018 CIF Football Division 7 Playoff Semifinals with a determined 43-30 victory over the Millikan High Rams in Round 2 on a slightly cool Friday night in Long Beach, November 9.

Running back Joshua Ford and quarterback Zevi Ekhaus led the Centaur attack. Ford had 190 yards rushing for 270 total yards and one touchdown. Eckhaus threw for 250+ yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

"It was a very big win, it was a good experience and we needed it," said Ford. "They're a very good team but we could have done better executing the plays, catching the balls and making better reads. But one thing about our team, we're very confident. We have little doubt about what we can do."

The 2nd-ranked Centaurs (10-2) will host top-ranked Northview High. The unbeaten 12-0 Vikings from Covina beat Warren High, 21-7, to advance. The Centaurs beat Warren in early September at Jerry Chabola Stadium, 34-28, and is unbeaten at home this season with a 7-0 record.

The game at Culver City High School is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this Friday, November 16. Read the upcoming edition of the Culver City Observer for the complete story.
