The Chargers are coming off their bye week and hopefully the rest was just what the team needed.

Star running back Melvin Gordon is due back from a hamstring injury. Star defensive end Joey Bosa could be available for his first action this season.

This weekend's game at Seattle takes on extra importance. Beating a good Seattle Seahawks team could lead to a very good November and get the Chargers in first place in the AFC West.

After the Seahawks game, the Chargers play the 1-6 Raiders in Oakland, the 3-5 Denver Broncos at home and the 2-6 Arizona Cardinals at home. Three teams with a combined 6-17 record.

The Seahawks are 4-3, 1-1 at home, having only played two of their first seven games in Seattle.

The Seahawks are a run-first team. They are the only NFL team that has run more than they have passed.

The challenge for the Chargers defense this week will be stopping the run and containing Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson, who is the Fran Tarkenton of today's game. Wilson has the ability to buy extra time in the pocket with his elusiveness and he is an accurate, deep passer. The Seahawks also bring a top five defense to go with their top five rushing attack.

Perhaps the key for the Chargers will be to win the turnover battle.

The Chargers are the better team and they have the better talent. Winning on the road in the NFL is tough, winning on the road and turning the ball over is almost impossible.

The Seahawks are second in the NFL in turnover differential at a +10, having caused 16 turnovers and only turning the ball over six times. The Chargers need to win this battle to prevail.
