Free Carnival to Mark Disability Awareness Month

October 18, 2018

A free carnival and resource fair to mark Culver City’s annual Disability Awareness Month will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave.

Though the event is free to everyone, an RSVP is required so that event-planners may assure that adequate quantities of food, prizes and craft supplies are available.

Participants must call (310) 253-6707 to confirm their plans to attend.

As always, the popular Giddy-Up Ranch petting zoo will be open. There will also be carnival game booths, a karaoke stage, a photo booth, community-resource tables, a quiet activity room and an arts-and-crafts area.

A clown will make balloon animals for the kids.

All activities have been specially designed to be accessible to children and older people of all abilities. Free hot dogs, burgers, pizza, cotton candy and popcorn also will be served.

The event is organized by the Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and is made possible through sponsorship from Culver City Exchange Club and Culver City Senior Citizens Association Inc.

Other event partners include Culver City’s Disability Advisory Committee and Culver City Neighborhood Girl Scouts.
