Bruins, Trojans Hope to Improve

September 20, 2018

The two major college football teams in Los Angeles have only one victory going into the fourth week of the season and may need to make changes if they hope to get a bowl berth.

The UCLA Bruins are winless in their first three games, and the Trojans have won only one of three contests.

The Trojans play their next four out of five games at home. Home-field advantage may be what the Trojans need to get back on the winning track.

If the Trojans lose on Friday, they may need to change quarterbacks. Since the beginning of the season they have started a freshman quarterback and it may be time to make a change.

They have two capable signal-callers that they can rely on if freshman JT Daniels continues to struggle. Mobile sophomore QB Matt Fink or redshirt freshman Jack Sears may need to step in and lead the Trojans.

Their defense, which was expected to be one of the strongest parts of the team, has given up 65 points in three games while the Trojans have scored only 38.

UCLA also needs to improve their offense, defense and special teams. Their opponents have scored 113 points and the Bruins have scored just 52.

The Bruins are also having problems at the quarterback position, though much of the trouble has been caused by a porous offensive line.
