The Lucky Duckies are back!
The Lucky Ducky Swim will again be at the Fiesta La Ballona Saturday, Aug. 25 and Sunday, Aug. 26.
At 3:00 pm on Sunday, the rubber ducks will "swim" across the Culver City Plunge in two preliminary races followed by the final winning race. There will be three Lucky Ducky winners. The top prize is $500 cash, with the second prize of two tickets to a Lakers basketball game and third prize a one-year free membership to the Culver-Palms YMCA.
The proceeds from the Lucky Ducky Swim will benefit Culver City children and youth programs.
The Culver City Rotary Club is a strong supporter of education in Culver City and has provided dictionaries to every third-grader, Chromebooks and computers, white boards and projectors, and other technology to the Culver City School District. The club also supports the Backpack for Kids Program, providing weekend food for needy children.
This year, the Rotary Club is hosting Culver City Kind in their booth along with the Backpack Program. Visitors can come to the table and paint rocks with colorful designs, while learning how to help feed children by supporting the Backpack Program.
Look for the Rotary booth at the Fiesta and watch the "swim" on Sunday. Lucky Ducky chances are $5 each, with a special "Six-Quack" bundle of a half-dozen tickets for only $25.
All donations are appreciated for this fun event. "Every time we talk about the Lucky Ducky Swim, people smile," comments Rotarian Carmela Raack. "It is a pleasure to see people enjoy such a fun and happy activity."
Stop by the busy booth at the Fiesta La Ballona, visit, paint a rock, and buy a chance to win with a Lucky Ducky!
