The Culver City Elks will host its annual American Red Cross community blood drive on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Lodge headquarters, 11160 Washington Place.

Each pint of blood that’s donated can save up to three lives, the Red Cross says. Last year’s event at the Culver Elks Lodge raised dozens of pints.

As a bonus this year, the Red Cross will send each donor a $5 Amazon.com gift card via email.

Walk-ins are welcome. To avoid any wait, though, donors can reserve an appointment time by calling Elks Blood Drive Chair Paula Kamba, (310) 837-0777.
