Montenegro and Capa Combine for One-Hit Shutout

Culver High Varsity Baseball Team 2018
Freshman pitcher Adrian Montenegro pitched six shutout innings allowing just one hit and senior Bobby Capa came in and pitched a perfect 1-2-3 seventh inning, striking out two in relief to close out the game. The Centaurs scored six runs on six hits. Mason Le and Joaquin Hines each went 2 for 3 with a double and a stolen base. Le scored twice along with Hines, Bobby Capa, Andrew Olmeda and James Roque each scoring once.

Starting Pitcher - Adrian Montenegro
The Centuars are 3-1 early in the preseason. After graduating 10 seniors last year, this season's team has only three seniors and three juniors. The other 11 players are underclassmen. Coach Prieto said that the team had a chance to play last summer and fall and has gained much needed experience. Other players on the team: Malik Clayton, Tanner Duve, Dylan Singh, Jake Glickman, Jack Bickerton, Benny Mosqueria, Shaun Hough, Logan Brand, Oliver Frye, Mason Kim and Nick Lucero.
