Centaurs celebrate 3rd quarter lead vs. Crossroads - CIF Playoff game

Culver City High was rewarded with a first round home-seed draw in the 2018 California State Girls Basketball Division 3 Championship tournament based on its 25-6 season record and reaching the semifinal round in the recent CIF Division 3AA Championships.

The Centaurs will host Carson High at 7:00 p.m. this Wednesday, March 7, in Del Goodyear Gymnasium. The Colts won the 2018 CIFLACS Division I Girls Basketball Playoff Championship last Saturday, beating Legacy High 75-63. Carson (20-12 overall) finished second in the Marine League this season with a 9-3 record.

The Culver girls tied with Beverly Hills for first in the Ocean League this season with a 9-1 record. They lost their CIF Playoff semifinal contest, 63-59, in overtime at Warren High. Their last tournament appearance was in 2013-14 when they advanced to the quarterfinals. That team had won its first title, the CIF Division 2AA Championships, weeks earlier.

The winner of the Culver City – Carson game will face the winner of the Mission Oak - Shafter contest in the second round this Saturday, March 10.
