Both Teams Host CIF Playoff Games This Week

Culver High girls are on the run for another CIF Playoff title

2018 has been quite a year for Culver City High girls and boys basketball. For the first time since anyone can remember both teams have captured their respective Ocean League titles in the same season. Both teams now prepare for CIF Southern Section Playoff games this Wednesday and Thursday, February 14 - 15.

Centaur boys, seeded No. 2, are ready to make a deep run in CIF Division 3 Playoff bracket

The Centaur boys will host Glendale High on Wednesday night and the girls will host Crossroads High on Thursday night in Del Goodyear Gymnasium. Both games start at 7:00 p.m. The boys (16-9 overall) are seeded No. 2 in the 32-team Division 3A tournament bracket against the Glendale Nitros (18-9 overall) with the winner advancing to Friday's second round.

The Culver girls (21-5 overall) are seeded No. 4 in the Division 3AA bracket against the formidable Crossroads (15-10 overall) squad from Santa Monica that happens to feature NBA great Shaquille O'Neal's daughter on its roster. The girls and boys Centaur teams finished the league season with 9-1 records despite both losing their final game of the league season going down to the wire at Beverly Hills High.
