State Democratic Party Endorses Sydney Kamlager

54th Assembly District Election Tuesday, April 3

Democrat Sydney Kamlager has won her party’s state delegate endorsement in the 54th Assembly District for the Tuesday, April 3, 2018 Special Election and June 5 Primary Election

Ms. Kamlager said “I’m extremely grateful for the support I’ve received from 54th Assembly District California Democratic Party delegates who cast their votes for me during this past weekend’s candidate endorsement balloting.”

Mark Gonzales, chair, Los Angeles County Democratic Party said, "The Democratic Party is proud to endorse Sydney Kamlager for state Assembly. Sydney is a proven progressive leader who has fought on the frontlines in the battles for access to higher education, affordable early childhood education, the environment, and restorative justice – issues we Democrats have been fighting for, for years. Los Angeles Democrats are united in support of Sydney Kamlager for Assembly District 54."

“Grassroots Democratic Party activists, Democratic Party local club leaders and rank and file members are the backbone of our party’s progressive movement. They’re fighting to prevail on issues of importance to residents and voters in our communities, such as quality education, affordable health care and protecting our communities from environmental hazards. They’re effective in influencing voter opinion and strong advocates for voter participation on Election Day,” Kamlager added.

Ms. Kamlager said “I’m honored to now be known as the only candidate in the race for 54th Assembly District that has been endorsed by the California Democratic Party.”

Ms. Kamlager, president of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Board of Trustees and district director to California State Senator Holly J. Mitchell, was elected to the LACCD Board of Trustees in March 2015. The 54th Assembly District represents residents living in South L.A., West L.A., Southwest L.A. and the City of Culver City.
