Despite Culver City declaring itself a “Sanctuary City” ICE agents raided one undisclosed Culver City 7/11 Wednesday. Agents descended on nearly 100 7-Eleven locations across the nation.

DHS Secretary John Kelly said Immigration and Customs Enforcement targeted immigrants who are a threat to public safety, including convicted criminals and gang members. He said 75 percent of those arrested were criminals, some of whom had been convicted of homicide and aggravated sexual assault.

The following list contains the criminal convictions from the Los Angeles raid:

It was not revealed if any arrest were made at the Culver City store.

In a statement ICE Deputy Director Thomas D. Homan commented on the 7-Eleven Operation, “Today's actions send a strong message to U.S. businesses that hire and employ an illegal workforce: ICE will enforce the law, and if you are found to be breaking the law you will be held accountable,” said Thomas D. Homan, ICE Deputy Director and Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director.

“Businesses that hire illegal workers are a pull factor for illegal immigration and we are working hard to remove this magnet. ICE will continue its efforts to protect jobs for American workers by eliminating unfair competitive advantages for companies that exploit illegal immigration.”

7-Eleven released the following statement about the raids, “7-Eleven takes compliance with immigration laws seriously and has terminated the franchise agreements of franchisees convicted of violating these laws.”

President Trump made cracking down on immigration a key plank in his election platform, cutting back on legal as well as illegal arrivals in the country and building a wall along the Mexican border.

The raid netted fewer arrests then those during the administration of President Obama.
