Publisher Ari Noonan announced this week that he was “suspending” his Culver City Blog http://www.thefrontpage.com for an undisclosed period of time. He stated thefrontpageonline “is going on a hiatus of indeterminate length.”

In his farewell letter Noonan stated, “No man or woman in America is as passionate about his work as I am. No one finds it as fulfilling as I do.”

It is the second Culver City online blog to suspend publication in as many months.

Last month Judith Martin-Straw, publisher of http://www.culvercitycrossroads.com announced suspension of her site. The last posting was in December and a banner reads “CulverCityCrossroads.com 2.0 Coming Soon.”

With plans to change the format Martin-Straw stated the publication will return, “The relaunch will be taking just a bit longer than originally planned, so we will be post the occasional update on the old template while we get the rest of the tech, the tools and the time together to do this the way it needs to be done.”

Neither blog gather substantial advertising.

Online publications across the country have endured a struggle getting enough advertising to support their operations. Patch, a hyperlocal online publication started by AOL lost hundreds of millions of dollars on meager revenues before AOL jettisoned it.
