Rams Open Training Camp on Saturday

Sports Editor

The Los Angeles Rams’ official season starts Saturday, July 29 when their training camp begins at 3 p.m. at the University of California, Irvine campus. This will be the second straight year the Rams have chosen UC Irvine for their training location. Rookies reported to camp last Wednesday and the veterans report on Friday. New coaches and new players will give the 2017 Rams a different look. Last year the team finished with a record of 4-12. Their offense was worse than their record.

Rams new head coach Sean McVay hopes to bring a new attitude on and off the field. Although he is young he is very serious and intense. During workouts at the beginning of the summer the coaches and players appeared to be marching to a different beat than last year. If that translates into more wins on the field, only time will tell.

The Rams training camp will feature 15 practices at UC Irvine that will be open to the public and this includes one joint practice with the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday, August 9 at 4:30 p.m. All open practices are free to the public and gates will open 90 minutes before the start of practice and select players will sign autographs after practice. Additional fan information can be found on the Rams’ website at http://www.The Rams.com/TrainingCamp. Weather and field conditions are evaluated daily, so all dates and times are subject to change, including autograph sessions.
