Volunteers Sought For Fiesta La Ballona

The Fiesta La Ballona Committee is seeking volunteers for this year’s Fiesta La Ballona, Culver City’s annual “Party in the Park”, which will be held August 25-27 at Veterans Park located at 4117 Overland Avenue. A hundred volunteers are needed to make this year’s annual spectacular end-of-summer festival a great success. The Fiesta weekend will feature carnival rides and games, live performances, over 100 booths spotlighting local organizations as well as featuring artisan wares and other vendors, a petting zoo and pony rides, a beer and wine garden, food trucks and a food court, and other special activities. This year’s event will be one of the highlights of the Culver City Centennial Celebration. Many volunteer shifts are available for people from all walks of life, including the opportunities to work in the entertainment tent, and participate in the sustainability program. Volunteer groups from corporations, houses of faith, schools, clubs and neighborhoods are welcomed. We also provide credit hours for students fulfilling service requirements for their schools. Fiesta volunteer training will occur on August 19 at 10:00 am in the Rotunda Room of Veterans Memorial Building. All volunteers receive a free Fiesta volunteer t-shirt and students may receive community service credit for their donated time. For more information about volunteer opportunities, email jill.thomsen@culvercity.org or call (310) 253-6722.
