The Not So Wimpy Film Festival Is Coming

If you know a young filmmaker, grades 4-9, who would like to participate in the Culver City Friends of the Library One Book, One City Jr film festival, the time to be working on the film is NOW! Inspired by the book, The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary by Jeff Kinney and the Culver City Centennial, this Not So Wimpy Film Festival is looking for student entries. These films must be no longer than 75 seconds, including credits, and must conform to requirements set by the CCFOL in collaboration with the County Library system. Submission forms and requirements can be accessed on the CCFOL website at http://ccfol.org. On Saturday, July 29 a workshop for young filmmakers will be held in the meeting room of the Culver City Julian Dixon Library at 2 pm . This will be an opportunity for students to get assistance with any questions they may have, or even to do some filming around the library. A limited number of iPads will be available for use in the library if anyone needs access to one. Entries must be submitted electronically to the library by Saturday, August 26. See the FOL website for detailed instructions on submission procedures. A panel of illustrious community members will serve as judges, and winners will be announced and films shown at the gala party and film screening at the library on Saturday, September 9 at 2 p.m. Winning films will also be screened at the Culver City Centennial Birthday Party on Saturday, September 16.
