Three Big Concerts Are Coming Up

Three concerts that you don't want to miss are landing at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills and The Rose in Pasadena this coming weekend.

On July 14 singer/songwriter/musician/actor Chris Isaak makes his debut appearance on the Saban Theatre stage, and this hepcat should fit right in with the retro architecture at this remarkable venue.

Isaak’s music magically recaptures the brilliance of the classic Sun sound, while also getting down to the heart and soul of his own deeply rooted musical identity. The late Sam Phillips, the genius behind Sun Records, had this to say about Isaak, “very talented, and his music is so damned honest It’s incredible.”

Isaak’s music has appeared in scores of films and television shows, as has Isaak himself. He starred in Showtime’s The Chris Isaak Show, and has appeared in numerous films, including Little Buddha, Twin Peaks, Married To The Mob, Silence Of The Lambs, That Thing You Do, and more.

Then, on July 15 at The Rose, Blue Oyster Cult (BOC) will be thrilling fans with their hard rock, which they've been doing worldwide for over four decades. They are revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work, creating powerful albums loaded with classic songs.

BOC is unique in that they are one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands in rock history to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. Upon the release of their self-titled debut album in 1972 the band was praised for its catchy music and lyrics.

BOC's canon includes three classic songs that will continue to waft through the cosmos - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," "Godzilla," and "Burnin' for You."

On July 16 also at The Rose take a trip back in time to the days of The Monkees with their lead singer who really needs no introduction. Micky Dolenz, and his unmistakable voice will be treating the audience to all of his big hits that moved a generation and led this pop culture phenomena to a dozen Top 20 singles, four #1 albums, and two Emmy Awards.

Not only is he a singer but Dolenz also has a background in television, film, broadcasting and Broadway.

You'll hear his two anthems, "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer," among many other cherished songs.
