The Culver City Observer has learned that Culver City Planning Commissioner Scott Wyant died Thursday morning after a long battle with cancer.

Wyant was an unsuccessful candidate for city council last year and had announced his intention to run in the 2018 race.

Shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Services are pending.
