At Slauson and Buckingham traffic was closed in all directions for five hours last Fridaydue to a construction crew hitting an uncharted water main spilling water on Slauson. The break caused several parts of Slauson to buckle and CCPD quickly closed down the street. Crews from the water company were unable to completely shut off the water as there were three private elementary schools on Buckingham Parkway that required water. A worker at the scene said they had reduced the water flow so the schools were still able to operate.
