Therapeutic Yoga at Senior Center

 


The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is bringing “RxRelax Seated Therapeutic Yoga” to the Los Angeles area. In conjunction with the Culver City Senior Center and UCLA Longevity Center, this free seminar is part of a national tour with experts from RxRelax.

The speakers, Jay Gupta, RPh, MScIM and Terry Gupta, MSW, RxYT of RxRelax, are healthcare professionals and yoga therapists who love bringing these evidence-based practices to people across the USA. What they share is easy-to-do, effective, and a lot of fun.

Yoga and mindfulness can be helpful for over 70 chronic physical and mental health conditions. This highly interactive program will share unique seated yoga techniques to help rejuvenate your mind and body and is for people who:

• Have or anticipate having mobility concerns.

• Want to maintain their independence at home.

• May be living with one or more chronic health conditions.

• Are interested in improving their health and well-being.

The seminar will be held on Friday, March 24 from 9:30 am to 11 a.m. at the Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Avenue.

Upon completion of this seminar those who register in advance and complete an evaluation will receive a free (5-star rated) RxRelax DVD to continue your practice at home.

No special clothing or flexibility level is required for the yoga portion.
