#1 Draft Pick Jared Goff to make debut vs. Dolphins

It was reported this Tuesday morning, November 15, that the Los Angeles Rams will start rookie quarterback Jared Goff, the NFL's top draft selection this year, against the visiting Miami Dolphins this Sunday at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

L.A. Head Coach Jeff Fisher informed Case Keenum, the Rams starting quarterback for the first nine games this season, and Goff of the quarterback change: "I sat down with both Case and Jared this morning, and informed them of the move."

"First I want to say, Case was voted a captain when the preseason was over, and he’s still a captain. His leadership, and his enthusiasm, and his commitment, and everything. You can’t ask for anything more out of somebody."

Goff on the move: "I was excited, very excited. It’s been a long time, it feels like, since I’ve gotten out there and played. I’m excited to get back out there and play.”

"I’m going to play as best I can and whatever happens, happens... I feel confident in myself and I know my teammates feel confident in me. I’m going to go out there and hopefully play well and win.”

The Rams defeated the New York Jets this past Sunday, 9-6 to keep their playoff hopes alive at 4-5 with seven games remaining on the 2016 NFL regular season schedule.

Fisher on Goff: "It’s time to move on. I felt in my heart. I was getting closer and closer over the last couple of weeks. I felt like this was the best time to go ahead and turn the keys over to Jared."

"We’re excited for him. He had a good day today. He’s into the plan, he’s really excited... he’s our starter, we’re moving forward."

The win ended a four-game losing streak but the offense failed to generate a touchdown for the third game this season. The Rams currently rank last in the league in points scored with 139.
