This election on November 8 will be so long, what with federal offices, judges, propositions, bonds and taxes, and the “facts” mailed by the pro and anti camps, you just have to wonder how many mail carriers will get hernias and go on state disability.

Over the past few months I have made Theodorsia’s and my recommendations regarding judges and the city hall power grab of placing the police and fire chiefs under the city manager. To the people at city hall who want to grab power in that manner, I say, “Reform in a profession that doesn’t need to be reformed is not the answer to fight crime and protect the citizens.” They tell us it’s for efficiency, but in my opinion and that of many of us, nothing could be further from the truth.

The “wing nuts” in city hall are experts, in my opinion, at shifting money from one line to another and back; they could be almost considered doing the Mississippi River boat two-step. This might be an over-dramatization, but those of us who remember the slogan “efficiency” also recall it soon came with layoffs. Could this be why the emergency 911 people working in the police department basement will soon lose their jobs, when the power grabbers move their work (but not them) to Hawthorne? I doubt they want us to know the sanitation workers are possibly also gone and their jobs are sold to WM or some other company.

I (and you could also) put in a public document request and receive from our city’s finance department information that the long term debt of Culver City is over $350 million dollars. When I saw $350 million my ears nearly fell off.

That’s right, folks. Culver City is so far under water our city has to pull every rabbit out of the hat to raise every new and old established tax to pay the big shots’ high salaries and pensions.

Yes, folks, the big shots will do whatever it takes, and we know what that means in order to keep their $200,000 yearly pensions or over $300,000 wages plus benefits. So why don’t we vote for more efficiency by reducing the city council from five members to three?

Inch by inch, day by day, the people are moving to clamp down on those excessive monthly pension checks. Have you noticed city hall has not told the people who is getting what? However, some need direct deposit, because many retirees are pulling in over $150,000 per year while seniors on Social Security next year are getting an increase of $2.50 per month.

Stand by for more exposes that they don’t want you to know.
