Stolen Vehicle Causes Fatal Accident

Closes La Cienega and Washington Boulevards

Saturday morning at approximately 11am officers from the Culver City Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle with no license plates. The police determined the vehicle was stolen. The suspect vehicle accelerated through the intersection of Washington Blvd. and La Cienega Blvd. against a red light and then colliding with another vehicle. One occupant of the other vehicle died at the scene and another was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. CCPD officers were not involved in the accident.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, a female juvenile, and three other occupants fled the scene of the accident on foot. All four suspects were quickly taken into custody and transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the accident.

The Culver City Police Department estimates the intersection will be reopened by 6pm.

The traffic collision investigation will be handled by the California Highway Patrol.
