CCUSD Names Tracy Pumilia Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services

September 8, 2016

The Culver City Unified School District announces that Tracy Pumilia has become the District's new Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, effective immediately.

Tracy brings 26 years of service as a Bilingual Educator, Coordinator, Elementary Principal, and most recently, Director of Curriculum And Instruction to her new CCUSD role; and during her nine years as principal of El Marino Language School, Tracy helped to transition the school from a foreign immersion to a dual language immersion model, as well as secured $2.4 million in federal grant aid to support, both, the Spanish and Japanese Immersion Programs.

A natural collaborator and team player, Tracy believes close relationships with staff and strong partnerships with parent and community advocacy groups lead to unlimited opportunities for students --- including rich cultural experiences, solid social-emotional supports, and significant academic gains.

Tracy earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and her master's degree in administration from Pepperdine University. Along with enjoying traveling, cooking, and spending their weekends on the soccer sidelines, Tracy and her husband of 22 years are proud Culver City residents, and have three children who are past, present, and future Culver City High School Centaurs.
