The 13th Annual Culver City car show was a rousing success despite two major changes.

First, the passing of Car Legend George Barris "The King of Kustomizers" who was a perennial figure at the show named after him. Second, the weather, each year the visitors are subject to the hottest day in spring. This year however the organizers were concerned about a rainout. The clouds gathered and dumped rain on other parts of the Southland but the show was spared with little more than a morning drizzle and cool temperatures for the rest of the day.

The show organizers dedicated the continuation of the show to Barris' memory

The Culver City Exchange Club, who puts on the show, was out in full force as the spectators saw hundreds of cars at the show. Classics, Hot Rods, modified cars and more.

The Culver City Fire Department put on its annual pancake breakfast inside Fire Station #1 and the Culver City Police Department diverted traffic and patrolled the show to keep everyone safe. Vendors provided food and items for purchase and the crowd had an enjoyable time.

Proceeds for the car show from vendor and entry fees go to benefit the many local youth charities the Exchange Club supports, including the Exchange Club's national effort to prevent child abuse. The club has been committed to supporting local charities over its long history.

Along with the car show, the Exchange also puts on Culver City's annual Fourth of July Fireworks, the Culver City Disability Children's Carnival and the Beer Garden at Festival La Ballona at the end of every August.
