UCLA Has A Busy Sports Week Coming Up

 

If you are a UCLA sports fan this weekend and next week may be the best time of the year. The baseball, softball, track and field and men's volleyball teams will be in action Friday through next Wednesday.

The baseball team is currently 12-13 overall and 4-5 in the Pac-12 conference. They will host Stanford on Friday at 7 p.m. and play the Cardinal again on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday April 12, the Bruins will battle Loyola Marymount at 6 p.m.

All the games will be played at Jackie Robinson Stadium on the West Los Angeles Veterans campus one block west of the UCLA campus.

The softball team will also host Stanford on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 6 p.m., Monday at 7 p.m. and they face Cal State Northridge on Wednesday at 7 p.m. All the games will be played at Easton Stadium on the UCLA campus. The team is currently 22-11 and 4-3-1 in the Pac-12 conference.

The men's and women's track and field teams will compete in the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on Saturday inside Drake Stadium on the UCLA campus. The field events will start at 10 a.m. and the first running event will begin at noon.

The men's volleyball team will host No. 6 Pepperdine on Saturday inside Pauley Pavilion at 4 p.m. The team is currently 21-5 overall and 15-5 in conference play.

UCLA and USC women's beach volley ball teams will be in action this weekend in the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge in Hermosa Beach. It's an all-day tournament that starts at 9:30 a.m. when USC takes on Loyola Marymount. The defending national championship Trojans are 17-2 and UCLA is 12-4.

The Trojans' baseball team will host Utah this weekend beginning with a game on Friday at 6 p.m. On Saturday the game will start at 2 p.m. and the Sunday game will start at 1 p.m. USC is currently 13-14 overall and 3-3 in Pac-12 play.
