USC Hopes To Stay Close To League's Elite Teams

January 28, 2016

The USC men’s basketball team is tied for second place with six other Pac-12 teams and they are hoping that a sweep of the Washington schools this weekend will put them back in first place.

USC played Washington State on Thursday and will battle Washington Saturday at noon in the Galen Center on the USC campus.

The Trojans are 15-5 overall and 4-3 in the Pac-12. Other teams that are 4-3 in the Pac-12 are Arizona, California, Colorado, Stanford and Utah and UCLA and Oregon State are 3-4. Right now there are 10 teams in the league with an opportunity to win the Pac-12 regular season championship.

USC was riding high as the first place team in the Pac-12 until it was swept by Oregon and Oregon State last week and it does not get any easier for the men of Troy after they face Washington on Saturday. Next week they host UCLA on Thursday, February 4, and they travel to the Arizona schools the following week.

The USC women are tied for fifth place in the Pac-12 and travel to Utah for a 6 p.m. game on Friday and stay on the road for a Sunday game against Colorado at 6 p.m. There are five Pac-12 teams in the top 25 in the country.
