Racing Cars Wreck Church

November 19, 2015

A suspected drunk driver lost control of his car while street racing on Washington Blvd. early Wednesday morning. As the cars were rounding the bend at Kensington Road one car jumped the curb and slammed into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the 11800 block of West Washington Boulevard.

The church suffered major damage.

Emergency personnel from both the Culver City Police and Fire Departments found the two people inside the vehicle were unresponsive and were taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center with what appeared to be severe injuries, police said.

The second vehicle also lost control but avoided collision. This vehicle was stopped by officers as it was leaving the area, and the driver and sole occupant were both detained. Police allege that the drivers of both vehicles were under the influence of alcohol.
