September 24, 2015

Yogi Berra, the legendary Yankee catcher who played on 10 World Series championship teams, died Tuesday at the age of 90.

Berra’s family issued a statement centering on his remarkable life and emphasized that he meant so much to so many.

The Yankees wore Berra’s No. 8 on the uniform of each player in their game against Toronto Wednesday.

Berra was known for his colorful phrases as much as his baseball ability.

One of his favorite sayings was “nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.”
