El Rincon School to Host Science Festival

El Rincon Elementary, Culver City’s only public S.T.E.M. elementary school, will celebrate its roots with the Science Rocks Fair and Festival on Friday, April 24 from 2 pm to 8.

This community event will be open to the public and will feature live interactive displays, make and take booths, science-focused activities and food and entertainment.

The event, which was previously a science fair, has now expanded to include science projects from El Rincon students fifth grade students, as well as select fifth grade students at Culver City Unified School District schools.

Additionally, El Rincon has expanded the event to include a festival, which will feature a Natural History Museum 60’ mobile museum, Kid Space Museum 20’ star dome, STAR Eco Station wild animals, science make and take booths,


The Exploratory Nerdy Derby 40’ ramp, The Planetary Society amazing asteroids and Trash 4 Teaching Reach for the Sky. There will also be an engineering contest with student-built catapults, live music, food and a silent auction.

The event is open to the public and free to attend, however, tickets are required for select demonstrations and for food and beverage purchases. All proceeds will go to El Rincon Booster Club, a 501c non profit, to purchase iPad minis for classroom use.
