Here are some highlights from the Finance Advisory Committee meeting of April 8, 2015:

At this meeting, the Finance Advisory Committee:

• Continued discussion/report from the Special Event Sponsorship Policy Review Ad Hoc Subcommittee to May 11, 2015.

• Discussed the Budget Benchmarking Study; reviewed Subcommittee benchmark program data; discussed report outline and analysis draft; and continued discussion to May 11, 2015.

• Received a report from the CFO on the Status of Housing Programs Provided by the City.

• Provided comments to the City Council on the City's Fiscal Year 2015/2016 Budget Process and (1) On a Motion by Member Kearney, seconded by Vice Chair Alexander: Reaffirmed the prior recommendation of the FAC that the RAP Program not be funded from the City's General Fund (approved 7-1; Member Hibbs voting NO, absent Member Reitzfeld); and (2) On a Motion by Member Trovato, seconded by Member Hibbs: Made recommendation for the City to invest in a consultant in order to research and identify an equitable housing transition plan for residents within the current RAP program. The goal being, creation of an actionable plan that would reduce the reliance on the General Fund (approved 8-0; absent Member Reitzfeld).
