Tobi Ballentine Succumbs at 57

 

Tobi Jean Ballentine, 57, passed away on Sunday June 8 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Tobi was born at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica on October 24, 1956 to William and Dolores Ballentine. She grew up in Culver City and graduated from Culver City High in 1974.

Having lived most of her life in Culver City she was active in the community events such as Fiesta La Ballona and served as Vice-Chair alongside her mentor Reba Yudess for over five years.

She was a generous person who enjoyed giving. She loved her friends and family and could always be counted on for a swift joke or a shoulder to lean on. She especially enjoyed her times at Disneyland with her Grandson Logan or taking him to the park. Her grandson was her reason to live and enjoyed every moment with him. Tobi was a devoted daughter, mother and friend.

She is survived by her daughter Shiree and the "love of her life," her Grandson Logan, brother Mark and sister in law Julie, sister Nancy, her niece Jenna, nephews, Dale and Shawn and numerous aunts and cousins . She was preceded in death by her mother and family that were lost to soon.

A memorial service is planned for a date to be announced.
