Culver Ice Foundation (CIF) was recently formed as a nonprofit corporation to raise significant funds towards a "nonprofit ice rink business model" to help save and operate the historic Culver City Ice rink.

The ambitious multimillion dollar goal is inspired by community spirit. The CIF hopes this will result in the future nonprofit lease, operation and or ownership of the historic ice rink by CIF for the community benefit. A primary objective is to retain the historic ice rink as a legacy forever.

Culver Ice Foundation's board announced the election of their Chairwoman Tai Babilonia, entertainer, businesswoman and community philanthropist.

With partner Randy Gardner, Babilonia is the 1979 World champion and a five-time (1976–1980) U.S. national champion. The pair qualified for the 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics.

Babilonia began her career skating at the Culver City Ice Arena.

The Culver Ice Foundation's stated mission is to facilitate basic ice skating instruction and ice rink recreation for youth throughout the community. Through a scholarship program, CIF will expand the instructional program to children from low-income families and at-risk and special needs children by providing funds for basic instruction and equipment.

The CIF goal is to provide 300 scholarships to youth during the first year of operation.
