Achievable Foundation Announces Grand Opening

October 31, 2013

On Monday, November 4 The Achievable Foundation will cut the ribbon on the Achievable Clinic, a first-of-its-kind, multidisciplinary medical home for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

More than 100 supporters are expected to attend, including Culver City Mayor Jeffrey Cooper and representatives from key partners including LA Care Health Plan, The Special Hope Foundation, The Material World Foundation, S. Mark Taper Foundation and Cedars-Sinai.

The grand opening will take place at 5901 Green Valley Circle in Culver City beginning at 5 pm.

People with developmental disabilities suffer from high rates of poor health, chronic illness and preventable death. Economic disparities, lack of training in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, low Medi-Cal and Medicare reimbursement rates and a fragmented health care system are just some of the obstacles faced by these individuals.

With the establishment of the Achievable Clinic, the foundation hopes to improve health outcomes and overcome barriers to adequate care for this underserved population.

The Achievable Clinic ribbon cutting will be an invite-only event, open to Achievable supporters, local leaders, important stakeholders within the arena of developmental disabilities and the media.

Festivities will include testimonials from people who will be served at the clinic, guided tours of the facility and a live DJ set by Rayvone Douthard, who is both an Achievable board member and an individual served by the foundation.

For more information about the event or to RSVP, contact Achievable at (310) 258-4256 or info@achievable.org.
