AT@T Upgrades Service In Culver

AT&T has upgraded two mobile Internet cell sites in Culver City, including one near the ICDC College to expand its 4G LTE coverage for area residents and businesses including faster mobile Internet speeds R12; improved performance and innovative new 4G LTE-compatible devices.

AT&T launched its ultra-fast 4G LTE network in the Greater Los Angeles area in January 2012. The new cell sites are one part of AT&TR17;s ongoing efforts to expand 4G LTE coverage and to drive investment and innovation to deliver the nationR17;s best, most advanced mobile Internet experience for customers.

As of December 16 AT&T has completed nearly 14 network upgrades in the Culver City area since January 2011.

Along with these upgraded cell sites, AT&TR17;s efforts are paying off in strong network performance, including a 30% percent improvement in keeping calls connected in Los AngelesR12;including here in Culver City. ThatR17;s 30% fewer dropped calls in the second quarter of 2012 (April through June), compared with the same time period last year.


The state-of-the-art improvements are expected to give Culver City more ability to handle a growing volume of calls, video, Internet and other data. The expanded Culver City wireless network is part of AT&TR17;s $1.7 billion investment in network improvements throughout the Greater Los Angeles area, including Culver City, from 2009 through 2011.

AT&TR17;s 8,000 percent increase in data traffic in the last four years has been the call to action to keep pace and stay ahead of the growing demand for data. To increase capacity, AT&T has added new cell sites, enhancing in-building coverage, increasing data speeds and, most importantly, servicing and tuning the network all to improve the customer experience. ItR17;s like adding lanes to the highway so it can handle more traffic.
