Former CCPD Sergeant Wassertheur Dies at 81

October 10, 2012

Bob, born April 27 1931, passed away September 24 in Oceanside.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and was a former member of the El Segundo Police Department. He retired as Sergeant on the Culver City Police Department, followed by a term as Chief of Security for Culver City High School.

Bob was a 40-year member of the Culver City Exchange Club who loved life and loved Culver City.

He leaves behind his wife, Darlene Wassertheur, three sons, Robert, Randy and Jim and granddaughter Audrey as well as stepsons Dan and Michael and step-grandchildren Jami, Cory and Kelly.

Bob will be missed by all who knew him and will never be forgotten for his good-natured teasing and razor-sharp sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 16 at noon at the Culver City Elks Lodge #1917, 11160 Washington Place, near Sepulveda Blvd.

The Exchange Club will suspend its regular meeting in his honor that day so friends may join together in giving Bob a final “10-4.” His ashes will be scattered at sea in San Diego.
