A bartender/barback, the magical light of Harvey Weinstein shone down from above, blessing Duf...

Myers, a 15-year-old sophomore at Culver City High, said he organized the project “to help restore the area’s natural habitat” and maybe even “bring some more hope” to the 500 families who lost their homes when the so-called Sayre Fire swept through the foothills...

  • It's Culver, Santa Monica For League Lead - Leaders To Collide Friday Night

    Oct 29, 2009

Many of the Culver City High football players have become sick from the flu the past few days – even head coach Jahmal Wright unfortunately caught the bug – but the Centaurs looked plenty healthy last Friday against Morningside. Senior quarterback/defensive back Marquel Carter continued his outstanding play, and the Centaurs’ defense stopped a trend of giving up big pass plays in Culver City’s 56-7 rout of Morningside in an Ocean League contest. • Dodgers, Angels: No Reason For Regrets

    Mitch Chortkoff|Oct 29, 2009

It’s not unexpected that Dodger and Angel fans are expressing regret about their teams failing to reach the World Series. Coming close makes the disappointment even greater, but in time, like a few months, fans should come to realize the 2009 season was successful for both teams. It requires taking a step back and taking a deep breath. If this was basketball, you could say your team reached The Final four. That’s right, after all the other teams were eliminated, the Dodgers and Angels were sti...

  • Robbins, Browne, Sons Wow Culver Audience

    Sharon Bell, Observer Reporter|Oct 29, 2009

Tim Robbins nonchalantly sauntered on stage at the Actor’s Gang Theatre last Saturday night and welcomed the packed house as if he were inviting them into his living room. The crowd loved it and responded as if they were dear friends at a guitar pull in Nashville. Tim started several songs over, laughing at his mistakes and endearing himself even more to the audience. He did three songs solo and then was joined by his son, Miles, his brother, guitarist David Robbins, accordion player Chris S...
